The interground-Schotterrasensubstrat 0-16 is a ready-to-use lawn substrate for lawns with occasional use loads (N1-N3 lt. FLL), consisting of pumice, lava and soil.
A gravel lawn is an area that is suitable for occasional use and is grassed over with grass. It means a closed lawn surface with only a small proportion of visible stones.
Within the scope of planning, it must be checked which construction methods are to be used in each case.
The following construction methods are distinguished for areas with gravel turf:
The expected truck and bus share must be determined on a case-by-case basis.
For gravel lawns, this results in the following standard construction methods and guide values for the thickness of the vegetation base layer:
interground Schotterrasensubstrat 0-16 is suitable for the following areas of application:
iNTERBiMS GmbH stands for careful sorting and preparation as well as for the production and supply of high-quality products with a quality management system that meets the requirements of ISO 9001:2015 according to the certificate of TÜV SÜD.
interground Schotterrasensubstrat 0-16 is a turf substrate that is suitable for a vegetation base layer according to standard construction methods SR 1 - SR 3 as well as for traffic areas with surfaces that can be planted with grass (according to FLL guidelines).

If the lawn is also to be driven on, the constructional requirements must also be taken into account to achieve high track resistance and load-bearing capacity.
Gravel turf combines the positive characteristics of gravel and grass. Where pure lawn is already ruined after being driven over by a car, gravel turf shows its strengths. It makes it possible to design paths that can be driven on by vehicles and which are at the same time green and look good.
Gravel turf shows the following advantages:
Gravel lawn is the alternative to a paved area, much cheaper than paving, unsealed and green all year round. It consists of a mixture of humus and gravel of different grain size. This type of surface allows for the percolation of precipitation over a large area, in contrast to sealing the ground with asphalt or concrete. Water can seep through the gravel, and the necessary stability is achieved. The humus guarantees a good breeding ground.
Gravel lawn is the ideal subsoil if you need a resilient green base.
It is essential to consider the conditions of the location so that the lawn grows well. The subsoil must be permeable to water but also be able to store water well. Furthermore, the soil must be well rooted and rich in nutrients. Moreover, the area should have as little slope as possible.
Depending on the soil conditions, a single-layer or two-layer structure is chosen.
In simple conditions, a single-layer structure is achieved by excavating a 10 to 15 cm layer of gravel lawn. To increase the load-bearing capacity, an additional 20 cm thick foundation of compacted gravel is often prepared. For heavier loads, a two-layer construction is recommended.
Due to the water permeability, special grasses for gravel turf should be used for greening.
